August 22 (SeeNews) - The share indices on the Belgrade Stock Exchange lost ground on Thursday, with trading company Hempro [BEL:HMBG] generating more than half of the overall daily turnover, bourse data showed.
The shares of Belgrade-based Hempro changed hands on the open market, jumping 30% to 666 dinars and generating 21.6 million dinars in turnover. The 32,424 Hempro shares that were traded are equivalent to some 11% of its share capital.
The company is controlled by local individual Zvonko Gobeljic with a 66.7% stake, followed by Belgrade-based firm Ekstra-Pet with 11.9%, while the remainder belongs to smaller shareholders, according to August 22 data from Serbia's Central Securities Depository and Clearing House.
Aerodrom Nikola Tesla [BEL:AERO] led the blue-chip losers on Thursday, dropping 1.06% to 840 dinars and registering the second highest turnover of 4.4 million dinars among the blue-chips.
Household appliances maker Alfa Plam [BEL:ALFA] closed flat at 31,000 dinars, posting the highest turnover of 6.2 million dinars among the blue chips.
The BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade Stock Exchange, fell by 0.33% to 750.28 points, after edging up by 0.05 % on Wednesday.
The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, lost 0.19% to 1,582.40 on Thursday, after adding 0.68% in the previous trading session.
The total trading turnover on the Belgrade bourse shrank to 37.1 million dinars ($349,000/315,000 euro) on Thursday, from 42.4 million dinars on Wednesday.
Trading on the multilateral trading facility (MTP) of the exchange generated a turnover of 840,700 dinars, down from 276,600 dinars on Wednesday.
