BELGRADE (Serbia), May 4 (SeeNews) – Austrian lighting solutions group Zumtobel said on Friday it plans to increase its workforce in Serbia to 350 employees by the end of September.
The company currently has 143 employees in Serbia and intends to increase their number to 350 in September, when the construction of a factory in Nis, in the country's south, will be completed, Zumtobel said in an e-mailed statement.
The workforce at the factory will be increased to 1,100 in the next three to five years, Zumtobel added.
A quarter of Zumtobel's employees in Serbia will work on indirect corporate functions, including supervision, accounting, quality control, logistics, procurement and IT support.
In March, Zumtobel said it plans to complete the construction of a luminaire production plant in Nis in September.
Serbia's government said in June 2017 that Zumtobel plans to invest 30.6 million euro ($36.6 million) in the construction of a factory with a footprint of 40,000 square metres.
