April 2 (SeeNews) - Romanian power supplier and distributor Electrica [BSE:EL] said that starting March 26, entities indirectly held by Allianz SE have exceeded the shareholding threshold of 5%, reaching ownership of 5.09% of the voting rights of Electrica.
Voting rights are calculated on the basis of all the shares to which voting rights are attached, even if for the treasury shares (6.89 million treasury shares) the exercise thereof is suspended according to law, Electrica said in a statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, on Wednesday.
Previously, Allianz SE owned 4.92% of Electrica, according to information posted on Electrica's website.
Allianz SE is a European multinational financial services company headquartered in Munich, Germany, whose core businesses are insurance and asset management. In Romania, it operates through Allianz-Tiriac Pensii Private.
Electrica's market capitalization stands at 3.19 billion lei ($723 million/661 million euro), according to BVB data.
Shares of Electrica, in which the Romanian state owns a stake of 48.8%, are listed on the BVB and the London Stock Exchange. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) owns 5.11% of Electrica, while Dedeman, NN Group NV and Allianz each own between 5% and 10% of Electrica's shares, according to information posted on Electrica's website.
Electrica's shares changed hands 0.43% higher at 9.26 lei by 1035 CET on Thursday on the BVB.
