May 23 (SeeNews) - Albania's electricity production rose by 38% on the year, to 2,787 GWh, in the first quarter of 2023, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Albania's power exports more than doubled to 904 GWh from 373 GWh in the January-March period of 2022, whereas imports dropped to 246 GWh from 715 GWh last year, INSTAT said in a statement.
Some 99.4% of the country's electricity production in the first quarter of 2023 was generated by public hydro plants, as photovoltaics accounted for the remainder.
Grid losses decreased to 533.5 GWh in the first quarter of 2023 from 582.7 GWh in the like period a year earlier.
