TIRANA (Albania), May 7 (SeeNews) – Albania's energy ministry said it has received two applications for building permits for small hydro power plants (HPP) and one application for the construction of a photovoltaic (PV) park.
The capacity of each small HPP will not exceed 2 MW, according to a list of applications posted on the website of the energy ministry on Saturday.
The consortium comprising local companies GMG and Engineering Systems intends to build a small HPP on Kushe river in Elbasan region, central Albania, whereas local company Kernaja Power wants to build a HPP on Bushtrica river in the northern region of Kukes.
Albanian company NTSP has submitted an application to build a PV park with installed capacity of up to 2 MW in the southeastern town of Bilisht, Korca region, at an estimated cost of 321.67 million leks ($3 million/2.5 million euro).
