September 25 (SeeNews) - Albania's central bank will auction 24.2 billion leks ($260 million/176.9 million euro) in three-month and 12-month Treasury bills on September 29, it said on Friday.
The Bank of Albania, which offers the T-bills on behalf of the Finance Ministry, will auction 13.2 billion leks worth of three-month T-bills and 11 billion leks worth of 12-month T-bills.
The three-month T-bills have an issue date of October 1 and will mature on December 31. The 12-month government paper will mature on September 30, 2010.
Albania's three-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 6.34% in the last auction held on September 1, up from the 6.31% achieved in previous auction on August 4. The 12-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 9.36% in the last auction held on September 15, up from the 9.30% achieved in the previous auction.
The Bank of Albania has auctioned Treasury bills worth 275.7 billion leks since the beginning of this year. It auctioned T-bills worth 373 billion leks in par value last year, compared to 386.83 billion leks in 2007.
