November 23 (SeeNews) - Airbus Helicopters has completed the construction of the first of six H145M helicopters it is going to deliver to Serbia's Air Force, Serbian defence minister Aleksandar Vulin said.
The Serbian government expects to receive all six H145M battlefield support helicopters by the end of 2019, Aleksandar Vulin said in press released issued by the Serbian government on Thursday.
Airbus Helicopters currently carries out a training of Serbian pilots and engineers for the operation of the helicopters, Vulin said during a ceremony marking the completion of the first helicopter for the Serbian Air Force at the company's product development and production facility in Donauwoerth, Germany.
In December 2016, Serbia's government signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters for the supply of nine H145M aircraft, six of them to the air force and three to police. The contract includes the transfer of technology, spare parts, tools and documentation for the maintenance and repair of the helicopters.
