January 25 (SeeNews) - The main equity index of the Zagreb Stock Exchange, the 21-share benchmark Crobex, rose 19.6% last year as turnover shrank, data by the financial regulator, Hanfa, showed.
The narrower Crobex10, which tracks the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, advanced 16% in 2021, according to figures released by Hanfa on Monday.
The bourse's total turnover last year fell 18.8% to 2.54 billion kuna ($382 million/337 million euro), as the most traded share was food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR].
Blue-chip Podravka [ZSE:PODR] contributed a turnover of 215.68 million kuna, or 12.4%, to the total turnover last year. Its share price surged 30.31% last year.
The bourse's market capitalisation added 1.13% on the year, to 273.964 billion kuna in 2021, bourse data showed.
CROBEXnutris registered the highest annual growth, of 24.13% among the share indices, while construction sector index CROBEXkonstrukt posted the biggest drop, of 31.49%.
