ZAGREB (Croatia), November 28 (SeeNews) – The Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Wednesday its nine-month pre-tax profit from operations in Croatia increased 4.2% year-on-year to 6.1 million euro ($6.9 million).
Total gross written premiums of VIG's Croatian units - Wiener Osiguranje and Erste Osiguranje - grew by an annual 21.2% to 93.7 million euro in January-September, VIG said in its nine-month financial report.
Casco premiums dropped 4.4% on the year to 3.8 million euro and other property insurance premiums jumped 40.8% to 21.2 million euro.
On the other hand, the premiums of the motor third party liability sub-segment contracted 13.4% to 9.0 million euro.
VIG's premiums from regular life insurance on the Croatian market dropped 7.3% to 21.9 million euro, while single life insurance recorded a 56.5% increase to 36.3 million euro.
Health insurance saw premiums of 1.5 million euro, compared to 1.1 million euro last year.
VIG, headquartered in Vienna, operates around 50 insurance companies in 25 countries in Europe, including Romania, Serbia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
