May 13 (SeeNews) - Canadian gold exploration company Velocity Minerals said that it found three large gold anomalies near Rozino, in the southern part of Bulgaria.
The field verification of the anomalies has identified widespread epithermal vein material in outcrop and float, Velocity Minerals said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Analysis of outcrop and float rock chip samples within the three soil anomalies confirms the presence of gold mineralisation, grading up to 28.2 g/t gold in outcrop," the Canadian company said adding that from a total of 18 rock samples collected within those soil anomalies, all samples returned gold mineralisation with an average grade of 2.76 g/t gold.
The soil and rock anomalies represent immediate drill targets and drilling has been initiated with additional rigs being mobilised to the area. Each of the three large gold anomalies is located within 500 metres of the Rozino deposit and drill testing aims to expand the resource base at the target, Velocity Minerals also said.
In February, Velocity Minerals said that it is planning to complete up to 50,000 m of exploration drilling at its projects in Bulgaria in 2021, sharply up from 22,500 m. of drilling done last year. Velocity is actively drilling at the Rozino, Obichnik and Makedontsi projects in Bulgaria.
Velocity Minerals completed the acquisition of 70% interest in Bulgaria's Tintyava Property, which holds the Rozino gold deposit, from local company Gorubso-Kardzhali in 2019, through delivery of a PEA.
