SKOPJE (Macedonia), November 12 (SeeNews) – The value of construction works completed by Macedonian companies outside the country in the first nine months of 2009 fell by 2.3% on the year to some 2.3 billion denars ($56.2 million/37.6 million euro), the Statistics Office said on Thursday.
Despite the overall decrease, the value of completed construction works increased in Croatia (+14.5%), Albania (+64.9%) and Ukraine (+30.6%). The value of completed construction works in Russia fell by 97%, the Statistics Office said in a statement.
The value of construction projects contracted abroad by Macedonian companies in the first nine months of 2009 was 3.07 billion denars, 39.8% down from a year earlier.
The biggest construction companies in the country are Granit, Beton and ADG Mavrovo Skopje.
