October 4 (SeeNews) - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) committed to providing an additional $3.5 million (3 million euro) to North Macedonia in 2021 as part of a development partnership grant agreement signed earlier, North Macedonia's finance ministry said.
USAID and North Macedonia signed two annexes to the agreement to increase the grant amount for 2021 to $11.8 million from $8.3 million, North Macedonia's finance ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
The additional funds will be spent for activities aimed at strengthening economic competitiveness and fight against corruption.
North Macedonia and USAID in May signed a five-year development partnership grant agreement committing up to $8.3 million annually to support the development of North Macedonia.
To date, USAID has invested over $833 million in development projects in North Macedonia.
