ZAGREB (Croatia), November 20 (Seenews) – Croatian port operator Luka Rijeka on Tuesday reported a rise in its nine-month profit to 6.5 million kuna ($1.3 million/885,900 euro) from 3.1 million kuna a year earlier as handled cargo increased.
From January to September Luka Rijeka handled 4.3 million tonnes of cargo, the company said in a statement to the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE). The port operator gave no comparative figures.
General cargo traffic rose by 27% and bulk cargo increased by 10%, Luka Rijeka added. Timber cargo grew by 42%,

Croatia's largest sea port operator Luka Rijeka ( www.lukarijeka.hr) is majority state-owned.
Luka Rijeka is one of the 30 components of the Crobex index of the Zagreb bourse. The company’s shares traded at 760 kuna on the ZSE on Tuesday, down from Monday’s close of 791 kuna.
