December 22 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's competition authority said that United Media, part of Dutch-based telecommunications and media company United Group, is seeking approval to acquire local Sofia-based publisher Telegraph Newspaper EOOD.
According to the terms of the deal, United Media intends to exercise joint control of local publishing house Borba currently owned by Telegraph Newspaper EOOD and a private investor, the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said in a notice on Friday.

Interested parties can submit their statements regarding the transaction to the CPC within seven days from December 18.
Telegraph Newspaper EOOD is wholly-owned by local investment company Intrust, which is owned by member of parliament Delyan Peevski, according to commercial register data.
Last week, the CPC said that United Media is seeking approval to acquire Bulgaria's Nova Broadcasting Group.
