PRISTINA (Kosovo), November 22 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said its pre-tax profit from operations in Kosovo rose to 500,000 euro ($553,623) in the first nine months of 2019 from 400,000 euro in the previous year.
Total gross written premiums from operations in Kosovo rose 17% on the year to 10.1 million euro January-September, UNIQA said in a nine-month financial report published on Wednesday.
Gross written premiums in the non-life insurance segment increased 15% to 7.2 million euro in the period under review, while premiums from life insurance rose 37% to 900,000 euro. Health insurance premiums grew 18% to 2.0 million euro.
UNIQA Group is represented by two companies in Kosovo - SIGAL UNIQA Group AUSTRIA and SIGAL Life UNIQA Group AUSTRIA.
In Southeast Europe, UNIQA also operates in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, and Serbia The group's gross written premiums in the region - excluding Romania - rose 7% to 240.5 million euro in January-September.
