November 13 (SeeNews) - Turkish and Polish companies have signed cooperation agreements worth 250 million euro ($335 million), Turkey's Investment Support and Promotion agency said.
The agreements were signed during the Poland-Turkey Business Forum, held in Warsaw last week, the agency said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to local daily Sabah, Turkey's Hattat Enerji and Polish mining equipment makers Kopex and Famur have signed two agreements for consulting, engineering and machinery supply regarding the development of coal deposits in the Turkish province of Bartin. Hattat Enerji, part of local industrial conglomerate Hattat Holding, holds the license to extract coal in Bartin's Amasra town.
The daily quoted Hattat Holding's board member Ipek Hattat as saying that the project in Amasra envisages the extraction of hard coal and building of coal-fired plants in the region. The total investment cost in the region is expected to reach $3.5 billion, Sabah added.
