September 16 (SeeNews) - Turkish integrated energy company Turcas Petrol [BIST:TRCAS] has made an offer to Israel to build a 470-kilometre sub-sea pipeline connecting Israel and Turkey for $2.5 billion (1.9 billion euro), Turkish media said Monday.
Mathew Bryza, member of Turcas' board, unveiled the offer during an energy conference in Greek Cyprus, daily Hurriyet reported.
The proposed pipeline will run from southern Turkish province of Mersin to Israel with capacity to transport 16 billion cubic metres of natural gas per year, the daily said quoting Bryza.
According to the daily, two of the world's largest offshore fields discovered in the past 10 years are located in Israeli waters.
