ISTANBUL (Turkey), January 2 (SeeNews) – Turkey’s insurance sector recorded a 6.4% rise in the first 11 months of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013, according to data from the Insurance Association of Turkey, quoted in local media.
The insurance sector’s premium production rose to 22.9 billion Turkish lira ($9.73 billion/8.08 billion euro) in the period, from 21.5 billion lira in the same period a year earlier, reported news agency Anadolu Ajansi on Wednesday.
"Nearly 20 billion lira of premium production was related to types of insurance other than life insurance, such as traffic, house and workplace cover; nearly 3 billion lira was bought in life insurance," reported the agency.
