Turkey's domestic industrial producer price index (D-PPI) jumped by 115% year-on-year in the third month of 2022, the statistical office said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, the domestic PPI added 9.2% in March, TurkStat said in a statement.
D-PPI rose sharply by 110.4% in the mining and quarrying sector, by 106.55% in the manufacturing sector, and by 228.9% in the electricity and gas production and distribution sector. The index added 42.3% in the water supply sector.
By main industrial groups, D-PPI increased by 122.9% in intermediate goods, by 75.85% in durable consumer goods, by 79.7% in non-durable consumer goods, by 214.9% in energy and by 76.55% in capital goods, TurkStat said.
By industry subdivisions, the sharpest annual increases in D-PPI in the month under review were registered in of coke and refined petroleum products, with 256.4%, in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning, with 228.9%, and in crude oil and natural gas, with 221%.
The lowest annual increases were reported in the sub-sectors of clothing, with 38.8%, water and water purification and distribution, with 42.3%, and basic pharmaceutical products and preparations, with 43.2%.
