March 31 (SeeNews) - Turkey's health minister Fahrettin Koca said that the number of coronavirus cases in Turkey has increased to 10,827, with confirmed deaths from the infection reaching 168, local media reported.
In the past 24 hours, around 11,535 tests have been carried out, whereas total recoveries have reached 162, Koca said in a Twitter post on Monday, as reported by Sabah Daily.
The country has ordered the closure of most public spaces, schools and universities, and restricted public transport. Turkey also enforced a nationwide all-day curfew on weekends for people aged 65 or over, as well as citizens with chronic conditions.
As of Monday, Turkey also quarantined a total of 39 settlements, including one district, six neighborhoods, 28 villages and four hamlets in 18 provinces to contain the coronavirus outbreak, the country’s interior ministry said, as reported by Anadolu news agency.
