June 2 (SeeNews) - Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey rose by 20.1% year-on-year in the January-May period, reaching 183,095 units, the country's Association of Automotive Distributors, ODD, said on Tuesday.
Passenger car sales increased by 21.7% on the year to 146,528 units in the first five months of 2020, whereas sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 13.9% to 36,567 units, ODD said in a monthly report.
In May alone, however, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles fell by 2.4% on an annual comparison basis, to 32,235.
Founded in 1987, ODD is an industrial association representing the 26 member companies with their 43 international automotive brands as of 2020.
