November 15 (SeeNews) - Turkey's budget deficit narrowed to 7.7 billion Turkish lira ($3.8 billion/2.8 billion euro) in the ten months through October from 18.8 billion lira a year earlier, the country's finance ministry said on Friday.
Ten-month budget revenue grew 18.1% on the year to 320.1 billion lira, while budget spending went up 13.1% to 327.7 billion lira, the ministry said in a statement.
In October alone, Turkey's budget gap shrank to 3.2 billion lira from 4.4 billion lira a year earlier as budget revenue increased 9.8% year-on-year to 30 billion lira and budget spending rose 4.5% to 33.2 billion lira, according to the statement.
