March 6 (SeeNews) - Telecommunications company Telenor Bulgaria, a unit of Czech-owned PPF Group, said on Friday that its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose by an annual 3.6% to 88 million levs ($50.7 million/45 million euro) in the fourth quarter of 2019.
The company's revenue increased 3.1% to 201 million levs in the October-December period of last year, as average revenue per used added 7.8% to 15.9 levs, Telenor Bulgaria said in a statement.
However, the number of the company's customers fell to 3 million at the end of 2019, as the ongoing trend for SIM-cards consolidation continued.
On the Bulgarian mobile segment, the company competes with A1 Bulgaria, a unit of A1 Telekom Austria Group, and Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), which operates under the brand name Vivacom.
PPF Group is majority-owned by Czech investor Petr Kellner.
