October 27 (SeeNews) - The indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange closed on the rise on Thursday, as the blue-chip SOFIX index recorded a modest gain for the fourth straight session in a row, bourse data showed.
The SOFIX went up 0.51% to 585.75 points buoyed by a 2.07% rise in Central Cooperative Bank [BUL:CCB] to 1.48 levs and a 1.79% climb in Advance TerraFund REIT [BUL:ATER] to 2.85 levs.
The top blue-chip decliner was Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] which slipped 0.99% to 2.00 levs.
The wider BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, rose the most, by 0.56%, reaching 136.11 points, chiefly due to a 14.18% surge in aluminium producer Alcomet [BUL:ALCM] to 7.65 levs in a trading volume of 722 shares.
BGBX40 constituents Industrial Capital Holding [BUL:HIKA] and Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria [BUL:ZHBG] also added to the index's strong performance, advancing by 5.30% and 4.58%, respectively.
The BGTR30 index, under which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, edged up 0.10% to 706.99 points. The modest gain came as a 2.98% increase in Agria Group Holding [BUL:AGH] to 24.20 levs was offset by a 2.63% dip in investment firm Eleven Capital [BUL:11C] to 18.50 levs.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts including Advance Terrafund and Bulgarian Real Estate Fund, added 0.20% to 176.55 points.
Total turnover on the BSE's main market jumped to 3.69 million levs ($1.89 million/1.88 million euro) on Thursday from 508,070 levs on Wednesday.
The bulk of the day's turnover, or 3.4 million levs, was generated by Tchaikapharma High Quality Medicines [BUL:THQM], which saw 216,561 of its shares changing hands. The stock closed 0.64% higher at 15.70 levs.
