October 5 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip SOFIX index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed 0.50% higher at 573.55 points on Tuesday, supported by a 5.35% increase in the shares of diversified group Industrial Holding Bulgaria [BUL:IHB].
On Monday, shares in Industrial Holding Bulgaria dropped 6.50%, making the company the lead decliner among blue-chips.
As many as 3,350 shares of Industrial Holding Bulgaria traded at an average price of 1.9570 levs on the floor of the BSE on Tuesday.
Drug maker Sopharma [BUL:SFA] was another notable gainer at the end of the trading session, as its shares added 3.17% to their price.
The BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, edged up by 0.02% to 132.69 points, while the BGTR30 in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, increased by 0.16% to 648.04 points. Both indices were backed mostly by the gain in Industrial Holding Bulgaria shares.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, lost 0.53% to 160.90 points, mostly dragged down by a 12.09% decrease in the share price of Intercapital Property Development REIT [BUL:ICPD].
Turnover on BSE's main market fell to 1.5 million levs ($888,800/766,900 euro) on Tuesday from 3.7 million on Monday.
The most traded company on Tuesday was Doverie United Holding [BUL:DUH]. As many as 52,879 shares in the holding changed hands 3.20% lower at an average price of 7.3444 levs, contributing 388,400 levs to the daily turnover.
