May 9 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Sofia Airport recorded 614,402 passengers in April, almost evening with traffic numbers in at the same time during the pre-pandemic year 2019, the airport operator said.
In the fourth month of this year, there were 15% fewer passengers, totalling 17,843, on domestic flights to and from Varna and Burgas, compared to the like period of 2019, airport concession-holder SOF Connect said in a press release on Sunday.
Regular international flights delivered 560,414 passengers, with an increase also in charter flight traffic, the airport said without providing numbers for charter passengers.
At 4,952, aircraft take-offs and landings in April were only 50 fewer than in the same month of 2019. There were also 19% fewer freight and postal shipments processed in the review month compared to 2019, the airport added.
