August 10 (SeeNews) - Slovenian car battery manufacturer Tovarna Akumulatorskih Baterij (TAB) estimates at up to 10 million euro ($11 million) the damage caused by floods that ravaged Slovenia on August 4 and 5, local media reported.
"What I can say is that the damage to the infrastructure, repro materials, raw materials and equipment is huge, at several million euro, perhaps even 10 million euro," news agency STA quoted on Wednesday the CEO of TAB, Roman Burja, as saying.
TAB boosted production at its factory in North Macedonia's Probistip to compensate for the reduced output of its Slovenian plants and is considering temporarily relocating some of its employees but does not plan to downsize its workforce, Burja also said.
The floods caused only minor damage to TAB's plant in Zerjav and no damage at all to the Prevalje factory but the damage to the Crna plant is big and will take about ten weeks to fix, he added.
The company expects that production at the plant in Zerjav could resume on August 21.
