April 28 (SeeNews) - Outgoing traffic from mobile telephony networks in Slovenia decreased by 1.9% in 2021 to 5.5 billion minutes, the country’s statistical office said.
In the fourth quarter alone, about 1.4 billion minutes of outgoing traffic from mobile networks were recorded, down by an annual 10.3% and by 12.9% on the quarter, the office said in a statement.
There were some 2.61 million mobile network users in the country at the end of December, up by 2.2% compared to a year earlier, and 0.6% higher compared to the end of September.
In 2021, the outgoing voice traffic from fixed networks, including national and international outgoing fixed traffic, decreased by 9.1% to some 346.7 million minutes.
At the end of December, there were 671,642 broadband internet connections, up by 3.1% on the year and 0.8% higher compared to end-September.
A total of 2.282 billion SMS-messages were sent in 2021, down 3.1%.
Slovenia has a population of 2.1 million.
