March 12 (SeeNews) - The Slovenian parliament said it will convene on Friday to vote into office the new coalition formed by the leader of centre-right Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), Janez Jansa.
The national assembly has called a session for the purpose that will begin at 6.30 pm local time on Friday, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
Earlier this month, the approved Jansa as new prime minister, following the resignation of outgoing premier Marjan Sarec and his coalition government of five parties in January.
Jansa has said his SDS party has joined forces with the social-liberal Modern Centre Party (SMC), conservative New Slovenia-Christian Democrats (NSi) and Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia (DeSUS) to form the new government.
The new cabinet will have 16 ministers. Seven of them will come from SDS, four from SMC, three from NSi and two from DeSUS.
SMC and DeSUS have been also members of Sarec's outgoing minority cabinet which was sworn in September 2018. The outgoing coalition was made up of representatives of Sarec's centre-left LMS, SMC,DeSUS, the Social Democrats (SD), and the Alenka Bratusek Party (SAB).
