April 20 (SeeNews) - The number of building permits issued in Slovenia in March increased by 28% month-on-month to 511, after declining 22.7% a month earlier, the office of national statistics said on Friday.
A total of 234 permits were issued for residential buildings in March, up 39% on the month, while 277 permits were issued for non-residential buildings, up 21% compared to February, the statistical office said in a statement.
The total floor area of buildings covered by the permits issued in March was 125,631 m2, up 55.0% from February.
In March, 98% of all building permits were issued for new construction and 2% for conversions. The number of building permits for new constructions increased by 29% in comparison with February and decreased by 14% in comparison with March last year.
The construction of 281 dwellings was planned in March, which is almost 100 dwellings more than in February.
