January 25 (SeeNews) - Slovenian port operator Luka Koper [LJE:LKPG] has signed an agreement to take out a 60 million euro ($68 million) syndicated loan from Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB) [LSE:NLBR] and Intesa Sanpaolo Slovenia, it said.
The loan is intended to finance the company's investment activities and is based on a fixed interest rate with quarterly repayment instalments that will last from mid-2023 to the end of 2031, Luka Koper said in a filing with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Friday.
Earlier this month, the company said it plans to invest 68 million euro in 2022, Luka Koper said.
Luka Koper made investments worth 45.6 million euro in 2021 to increase the annual capacity of the terminal to 1.5 million TEUs. The port operator ordered two new super post-panamax container cranes, which will arrive in mid-2022, and is preparing the project documentation for the start of construction of the northern part of Pier 1, which will also process containers.
