December 28 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourist arrivals to Slovenia rose by 16.9% year-on-year to 3,223,058 in the first 11 months of 2017, the state statistical office said on Thursday, citing provisional data.
Domestic tourists totalled 1,226,707 in the review period, up 5.7% on the year, taking the total number of tourists to 4,449,765, up 13.6%, the statistical office said in a statement.
Overnight stays by international visitors grew 15.0% year-on-year in January-November, reaching 7,679,111.
Domestic tourists spent 3,653,180 nights in Slovenia in the first 11 months of 2017, up 4.4% on the year. The overall number of tourist overnights in the review period increased to 11,332,291, up 11.4%, and surpassed the full-year figure for 2016.
In November alone, tourist visits totalled 240,169, up 9.7% on the year, while overnight stays increased by 8.4% to 578,649.
In 2016, tourist visits grew 9.9% to 4.3 million, while overnights increased 8.1% to 11.2 million.
