May 31 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourist arrivals in Slovenia rose by 17.9% year-on-year to 695,768 in the first four months of 2017, provisional data from the state statistical office showed on Wednesday.
Overnight stays by international visitors grew 16.3% in January-April, reaching 1,636,266, the statistical office said in a statement.
Domestic tourists totalled 392,959 in the review period, up 5% on the year, taking the total number of tourists to 1,088,727, up 12.9% on the year.
Domestic tourists spent 1,115,711 nights in Slovenia in January-April, up 2.8% on the year. The overall number of tourist overnights in the first four months of the year increased to 2,751,977, up 10.4%.
In April alone, tourist visits totalled 348,451, up 27.9% on the year, while overnight stays added 27.1% to 810,396.
In 2016, tourist visits grew 9.9% to 4.3 million, while overnights rose 8.1% to 11.2 million.
