March 28 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's net electricity production decreased by 9% month-on-month to 1,041 GWh in February, the statistical office said.
In annual terms, the country's power output was down 1%, the office of statistics said in a statement on Monday, citing provisional data.
The February output of the country's hydropower plants went up 35% monthly and rose 17% yearly to 223 GWh.
The output of the thermal power plants in Slovenia totalled 294 GWh in February, up 8% on the year and down 22% month-on-month, while Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant, Krsko, produced 493 GWh of electricity last month, up 6% on the year and down 5% on the month.
In February, Slovenia imported 851 GWh of electricity and exported 728 GWh. Imports fell 12% compared to the previous month, while exports decreased 16%.
On an annual comparison basis, imports went up 3% and exports grew 6%.
Nuclear energy had the largest share of 47.3% in Slovenia's total power production in February, followed by hydro energy with 21.4%, thermal with 28.2%, and solar and wind power with 3.1%.
