November 12 (SeeNews) - Slovenian home appliances manufacturer BSH Hisni Aparati, a subsidiary of Germany's BSH Hausgeraete, has opened a 4.5 million euro ($5.1 million) development centre in Nazarje, the Slovenian government said.
The premises have a footprint of 2,600 square metres and will have a workforce of 140 engineers developing food preparation appliances, the Slovenian government said in a statement on Thursday.
"Artificial intelligence is moving very fast, development is unimaginable. Digital transformation is something that is also one of the priorities of the Slovenian presidency of the EU Council and now we see how fast and advanced the steps are when it comes to creating and transforming all these high-flying plans into practice," prime minister Janez Jansa said at the inauguration ceremony at the centre.
BSH Hausgeraete operates some 40 factories in Europe, the USA, Latin America and Asia.
