LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), September 4 (SeeNews) – Slovenian car upholstery manufacturer Boxmark Leather plans to close down its factory in Otiski vrh next month, local media reported on Monday.
Boxmark Leather has already offered work of the 150 employees of Otiski vrh factory, in northern Slovenia, at its Kidricevo plant located 80 km to the southeast, news agency STA quoted the CEO of Boxmark Leather, Marjan Trobis, as saying.
The reasons for the closure of Otiski vrh factory are purely technical, as the company needs more machines to sustain production volumes there, while it has already completed an investment in capacity upgrade at Kidricevo plant, Trobis explained.
Boxmark Leather has a total of 2,000 employees at its factories in Kidricevo, Murska Sobota and Otiski Vrh. It recorded a revenue of 149 million euro ($177.3 million) and a loss of 6.9 million euro in 2016.
