August 27 (SeeNews) - Slovenian state-controlled motorway company DARS said on Tuesday its net profit rose 20% on the year to 78.2 million euro ($86.8 million) in the first half of 2019, as revenues grew faster than expenses.
The company's revenue increased by 12% year-on-year to 251 million euro in January-June with net sales revenue up 4% to 224 million euro, DARS said in its first-half unaudited financial report filed with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.
Toll tax revenue rose 5% to 217 million euro, making up 97% of total net sales in the six-month period.
Expenditures increased by 7% to 155 million euro.
The company employed 1,251 people at the end of June, up from 1,208 a year earlier.
DARS manages and maintains more than 600 km of motorways and high-speed roads, the company says on its website.
