March 14 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's SKB group, owned by Hungarian banking group OTP, booked a record-high consolidated net profit of 61.1 million euro ($65.5 million) in 2022, up 32.7% on an annual basis, it said.
"The generated net profit provides a 14% return on capital, which is 312 basis points more than in 2021. The achieved return on capital ranks the SKB group among the most profitable banks in Slovenia," SKB said in a statement on Monday.
SKB group's operating profit rose by 33.3% to 75.6 million euro in 2022, as net interest income increased by 11.4% to 85.2 million euro last year, while net non-interest income grew by 1.4% to 46.2 million euro.
The assets of the group exceeded 4.4 billion euro, translating into an 8.7% market share in Slovenia measured by balance sheet. SKB increased its market share in loans to 10.8% and in deposits to 9.2%.
The Hungarian banking group completed the acquisition of SKB Banka from France's Societe Generale Group in December 2019. At the time of the acquisition, SKB Banka was the fourth largest bank in Slovenia with a market share of nearly 9%, OTP said back then.
