January 30 (SeeNews) - The net profit of commercial banks in Slovenia declined 1.2% year-on-year to 423.4 million euro ($461.7 million) in the first eleven months of 2022, the central bank said.
The banks' net interest income grew 15.8% on the year to 660 million euro in the period under review, whereas non-interest income went up 6.6% to 527.3 million euro, Bank of Slovenia said in its monthly report on the performance of the banking sector.
The total gross income of banks in Slovenia grew 11.5% year-on-year to 1.187 billion euro in 2022, while operating costs increased 5.5% to 680.1 million euro.
"The deterioration in the quality of bank portfolio detected in October spread in November, but the total share of non-performing exposures (NPEs) remained low (1.2%)," the central bank said.
The banks' total assets grew to 50.154 billion euro at end-November, up from 48.252 billion euro at the end of 2021.
