December 24 (SeeNews) - The total number of tourists recorded in Slovenia in November stood at 256,591, whereas no tourist arrivals were recorded in the like period of last year due to the coronavirus-related restrictions, the state statistical office said on Friday, citing provisional data.
The number of foreign tourists who visited Slovenia in November stood at 72,635, a third of the figure recorded in November 2019, and their overnight stays totalled 219,209, the statistical office said in a statement.
Visits by domestic tourists totalled 183,956. Overnight stays by domestic tourists came in at 695,200 in November.
Most foreign overnight stays in November 2021 were generated by tourists from Italy (11% of total), Serbia (10%), Austria (9%), Croatia (8%), and Bosnia and Herzegovina (7%).
A total of 34% of all overnight stays in November were spent in spa resorts, followed by seaside resorts with a 19% share and mountain resorts with 14%.
In the first eleven months of 2021, tourist arrivals increased by an annual 21.4% to 3,708,535, while overnight stays grew 14.8% to 10,486,526.
