June 13 (SeeNews) - Serbia's budget balance showed a surplus of 6.6 billion dinars ($65.6 million/55.8 million euro) in the first four months of 2018, compared to a surplus of 10.7 billion dinars in the prior-year period, according to finance ministry data.
Primary budget surplus decreased to 60 billion dinars in January-April from 67.8 billion dinars in the respective period of last year, figures posted on the website of the finance ministry show.
Total budget revenues grew by a real 3.1% on the year, reaching 357.9 billion dinars in the period under review, while expenditure also increased 3.1% year-on-year to 351.3 billion dinars.
Tax revenues rose by a real 6.1% to 312.5 billion dinars, non-tax revenues went down 13.6% to 43.8 billion dinars, and grants decreased 76% to 1.62 billion dinars in the first four months of 2018.
On the expenditure side, current expenditure grew by a real 1.4% to 315.7 billion dinars, while capital expenditure soared to 26.8 billion dinars from 11.6 billion dinars in January-April 2017.
In April alone, Serbia reported a budget deficit of 91.3 million dinars, based on revenues of 91.1 billion dinars and expenditure of 91 billion dinars. The primary surplus totalled 11.8 billion dinars.
Serbia's budget swung to a surplus of 33.9 billion dinars in 2017 from a deficit of 7.9 billion dinars in the previous year.
