August 31 (SeeNews) - Serbia’s real GDP growth slowed to an annual 2.0% in the second quarter of 2016, from 3.8% in the previous quarter, the country’s statistic office said on Wednesday.
According to seasonally adjusted data, annual economic growth in the second quarter stood flat, following an increase by 1.9% in the first quarter of the year, data published on the statistics office website showed.
The second quarter of 2016 saw significant real growth in gross value added in construction – by 6.1%, and in financial and insurance sector – by 3.9%.
A real decline in the gross value added was recorded in industry and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation – by 0.6%.
Household final consumption expenditure increased by a real 1.3% annually in the second quarter, whereas general government final consumption expenditure grew by 4.6%.
Gross fixed capital formation rose 4.9%, the exports of goods and services expanded by 10.0% and the import of goods and services increased by 12.3% annually in the second quarter.
