March 25 (SeeNews) - Serbia's Energy Agency said on Friday it has approved a 12.7% cut in the regulated wholesale gas price as of April 1.
This is the fourth cut in a row in the quarterly-defined gas price, bringing the total reduction since July 1, 2015 to 33%, the regulator said in a statement.
With the new correction, household consumers will pay 11.8% less for gas. Some 249,000 Serbian households, or 10% of the total, have access to gas.
Serbia's state-owned natural gas monopoly Srbijagas proposed on Wednesday a 12.93% price cut as of April 1.
Serbia imports 82% of its gas from Russia through a pipeline via Hungary and Ukraine, while the rest comes from domestic sources.
