June 23 (SeeNews) - Serbian coal miner and thermal power producer TE-KO Kostolac said on Monday it has started the overhaul of a 348.5 megawatt (MW) unit.
The TE-KO Kostolac complex, comprising the Kostolac A and B power stations, has a total installed power generation capacity of around 1,000 MW.
The overhaul of the B2 unit of the Kostolac B power station, commissioned to Alstom, started one month earlier than planned and is set to last until July 10, TE-KO Kostolac said in a statement.
The downtime time will used for repairs on other components of the power generation complex, which are critical for preparing the B2 unit for operation during the winter, TE-KO Kostolac director Dragan Zivic said.
