August 7 (SeeNews) - Serbian coal miner Kolubara, part of state-owned energy utility EPS, is set to restart by the end of the year operations at the Tamnava-West field which was inundated during the May floods, local media reported on Thursday, quoting the country's energy minister Aleksandar Antic.
Kolubara reopened its Veliki Crljeni open-cast mine on Thursday, the third of its flooded mines to restart operations, news portal Tanjugbiz.rs reported.
Veliki Crljeni, which restored production 50 days earlier than planned, will have a daily output of 20,000 tonnes.
Kolubara, which produced 30.7 million tonnes of coal in 2013, supplies the Nikola Tesla thermal power plant which covers more than 50% of Serbia's domestic electricity consumption.
