March 6 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange closed 0.68% higher at 945.65 points on Wednesday, boosted by gains in insurer Dunav Osiguranje [BEL:DNOS] and industrial gases maker Messer Tehnogas [BEL:TGAS], bourse data showed.
Dunav added 2.65% to 929 dinars in a volume of 1,205 shares. Messer closed 0.82% higher at 23,811 dinars, generating the largest single turnover of 3.95 million dinars for the day.
Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] was the third blue-chip gainer for the day, advancing 0.63% to 805 dinars at close.
Fintel Energija [BEL:FINT] - the Serbian subsidiary of Italy's Fintel Energia Group, and Belgrade airport operator Aerodrom Nikola Tesla [BEL:AERO] were the only other blue chips that traded on Wednesday. They closed flat - at 660 dinars the former and at 1,800 dinars the latter.
The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index also rose, by 0.41% to 2,061.54 points.
Total turnover on the Belgrade bourse doubled to 9.5 million dinars ($92,900/85,300 euro) on Wednesday from 4.8 million dinars on Tuesday. Trading in Treasury bonds accounted for 1.6 million dinars of Wednesday's turnover.
