July 25 (SeeNews) - Loans granted by banks in Serbia reached 3.27 trillion dinars ($28.5 billion/27.8 billion euro) at the end of June, up by 10.3% year-on-year, the Association of Serbian Banks (ASB) said.
On a monthly comparison basis, loans increased by 1% in June, the ASB said in a monthly report on Friday.
Legal entities owed 1.8 trillion dinars in loans to banks at the end of June, up 10.9% year-on-year, while entrepreneurs owed 71 billion dinars, or 7.6% more on an annual comparison basis.
Cash loans to households were 11.1% higher year-on-year at the end of June, while consumer loans increased by 3.6%. Loans to the agriculture sector rose 5.8% on an annual basis, while mortgage and renovation loans grew by 14.3%.
The overall share of bad loans fell to 2.8% in June, from 3.1% in the same month of 2021.
In 2021, Serbian banks' loan portfolio increased by 9.7%, according to ASB's earlier data.
