BELGRADE (Serbia), March 9 (SeeNews) – Serbia has started redirecting migrants to its borders with Bulgaria and Macedonia as of Wednesday, following Slovenia's decision to reintroduce Schengen rules, the country's interior ministry said in a statement.
Given the newest development, Serbia will not accept the role of an assembly point for refugees, the ministry announced late on Tuesday.
The country's authorities declared that they will coordinate all actions related to the migrant flow with the EU, thus redirecting new arrivals to the southern and eastern borders with neighbouring Macedonia and Bulgaria.
Croatia has formally informed Serbia's government about Slovenia's decision to implement new entry restrictions for migrants on the Schengen border of the EU, Serbia's interior ministry added.
