- The details of the Russian loan in support of Serbia’s budget and big investment projects will be made public later this month when Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev will visit the Balkan country, Serbia’s Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said without disclosing the volume of the loan.
- Serbia’s inflation will stagnate by the end of the year, when it will measure 9.5% on an annual basis, Economist Sasa Djogovic from Belgrade-based marketing research institute IZIT said. On an annual basis, Serbia’s inflation in August slowed to 8.0% from 8.5% in July.
- Serbia’s troubled flag carrier JAT has paid part of the 110 million dinar debt it owes to state-owned aircraft maintenance company JAT Tehnika, JAT Tehnika’s Director General Srdjan Miskovic said. JAT Tehnika went on a three-day strike last week, grounding all JAT Airways planes, over the carrier’s failure to meet its debt obligations.
