- The government in Belgrade adopted on Thursday a law on slashing staffing levels at local administrations. The move paves the way for between 5,700 and 37,800 in layoffs, the draft of the bill indicated.
- Russia’s $1.0 billion loan to Serbia could reach $1.4 billion if the two countries agree on the conditions within the next 15 days, unnamed sources said. Russia wants to take part in the construction of EU-defined Corridor X, power plants and the underground railway system in Belgrade in exchange for the $1.0 billion loan to the government in Belgrade, Serbian daily Blic reported on Thursday, quoting unnamed sources.

- Serbia’s Investment Plan Minister Verica Kalanovic will sign a subcontract with Chinese company China Road and Bridge Corporation for a 170 million euro project for a bridge in Belgrade. It will connect the Belgrade municipality of Zemun with the suburb of Borca over the Danube river.
